Always rent from Sixt, they are a great company with good rates, great customer service and overall a good experience. Basel pickup is confusing, however. Once side is French and one is Swiss. Please note, if you get a car from the French side, but plan to travel in Switzerland, you will have to get your own Vignette or risk getting a ticket. I think all cars rented in Basel, regardless on which side of the Airport - French or Swiss, should come equipped with one

Adeline at the service counter gave us a brand new Audi Q5 (20 km on the dash) fully equipped as an upgrade. Plane was late we were tired and this made all the difference in the world.

Online reservation is done for me. Arrived 10 minutes before closing, but all was done in few minutes.
Provided car was one category higher as the reserved category was out of stock.
Return without problem, even i parked on wrong parking they transfered the car to correct place without charge and problem.
Takeover information was on my mail in less than an hour.
One of best rental car service i had.
