Driving Tips for France
When driving in France, you should know that speed limits are 50 km/h in cities, and between 80-130 km/h on rural roads, highways and freeways. Driving is on the right side of the road, and right of way at unmarked intersections is given to vehicles to your right. All occupants of a vehicle must wear a seat belt. When entering many cities in France, you will need a Crit’Air, or clean air sticker, which you can order online. The price depends on the emissions of your car.

Skiing is a popular activity in the winter months in France. You can also see the mountains and glaciers around Mont Blanc or the French Alps which are amazing to see when the snow falls. You must have a valid driver’s license, plus an ID or passport for a SIXT rental in France. If your license uses a non-Roman alphabet like Cyrillic or Arabic, you will also need an international driving permit.
