Overall, a great rental car experience. We saw the 100 people lined up for Dollar, Thrifty, and Budget rental places and hopped on a nearly empty tram ride to the Sixt branch. Spend a little extra and go with Sixt! Cancel your Turo and go with Sixt!
I only rate it 4 stars because though we were one of three groups at the branch, the agents still take 10-15 minutes with each group to get them their car and tried to get us to purchase insurance which we had already declined online. What Turo and Hertz have over Sixt is that they gather all the information online ahead of time and you go straight to your car. The agent when we checked in wasn’t super nice but Catherine who checked us out when we got back was GREAT. Very kind and efficient.
The car itself was only a year old and drove great. Overall, nothing wrong with the vehicle and great experience renting from Sixt!

If you want to avoid the unbelievable long lines at the more well-known car rentals like budget Avis Hertz Etc you should try Sixt. They are a new and up and coming International car rental company. Their prices are a little bit cheaper but their service is not cheap at all. And their cars are a lot cleaner and newer. When we took the shuttle from the airport to their off airport location there was nobody in line and the service an attention was excellent. It was actually a pleasure. Everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made the process of renting a car smooth and fluid. I would use them again over budget which was my standard go to car rental company: no more if sixth is one of the choices available.

We rented a car for a short weekend getaway, really knowing nothing about the brand (apparently it’s German? And new to north america) - and it was very good! Car was super new and clean, and the service at Lihue airport location is amazing, especially Tabby. Some error caused issue with the prices and they basically gave us a really good rate to compensate for the inconvenience (which it really wasn’t!). All the staff was very friendly and clear on what we needed, zero pushy sales tactic for insurances or up charges which I really appreciated. One thing to note is their location is OFF AIRPORT and need a longer ride, so if you are on tight schedule and have kids and stuff, maybe not the best.

I am updating my review after a disappointing experience with customer service via phone and after a 2 hour being stuck at a park we managed to get to the airport as apparently the battery was very weak. Thanks @Tabitha at at the airport for making the customer service experience way better than what we received through Telephone with customer service. She was amazing and took care of us and most of all heard our concerts. She did upgrade with a luxury care for the car who ch was broken down. Surprising the battery was an old one which I have never experienced in my years of travelling .

This is the best experience we’ve ever had renting a car! Shuttle was on time and quick ride, Jaelyn was friendly and helpful, at the counter there was no line, Michael was super courteous, wasn’t pushy about selling additional services, and made great recommendations for our stay, car was clean and ready to go, great experience!
