Car rental at Ljubljana Airport

We had a completely fine experience with Sixt at the Ljubljana airport. The car was good, came to about 340 euros for 3 days with zero excess insurance, navigation and second driver. The deposit was 500 euros extra but this was returned within 24 hours. There was a scratch on the car before hand, we videoed and showed the man at the desk who helped us and he said this was purely cosmetic. There was a friendly member of staff at the end who did a full walk around inspection of the car and confirmed all in good order and then gave us a document to sign to confirm this. This was very reassuring. Reading other reviews always worries me, but I think it should convince you take out fully comped insurance. I'm sure most people who have done this have had no problems.

I used Flizzr (Sixt) - Cheap, good comprehensive insurance offered, and the staff were brilliant in Ljubljana airport base. Sixt were great even when our flight was delayed by 2 hours (only 30 Euro surcharge and we arrived close to midnight) and I left my wallet/glasses in the car after drop-off (they sent someone to go and find them in the open car parking lot). Slovenia has the best driving roads in Europe, and possibly even better than New Zealand. You need to hire a car and experience Slovenia's stunning roads and scenery. I would definitely recommend!!!

I was hesitant to rent from Sixt after reading some poor reviews but they offered the best pricing. I was very pleased with the entire rental experience. Courteous man checked me in and another very helpful man went over the car with me and helped set the GPS to English and instructed me how to use it. The car was clean and new. Very glad I decided on the GPS as it worked so much better than maps on my phone and is safer. I placed the keys in the after hours drop box when checking in for my early flight. I was only charged what was agreed on beforehand as there was no damage to the car. The only thing I would recommend is not paying for the full tank of petrol. I drove to several areas of Slovenia and used less than half a tank.

SIXT is my go to rental agency but was hesitant to use this location based on the negative reviews but ended up having a pleasant experience. I was assisted by Mr. Rok who was very patient and helpful- I was given a basically brand new premium SUV as booked. Make sure you pay the cross border fee if taking the vehicle to another country. For people getting hit with damage claims, document and photograph the car before driving off.

Had a great and smooth experience here. Booked Audi A6 and really got suggested the very same vehicle which was surprising as long as rental companies usually provide something worse in fact. As long as the Audi was station wagon, I asked for sedan replacement and got literally brand new BWM 3 sport package with only 5000 km. Gorgeous fresh car, enjoyed it very much. Returned it with no damage and got my 1500 eur deposit refunded to credit card in 4 days. I was a little bit nervous because they don't block the amount on card, they charge it together with rental cost, but it went smooth. Just a usual precausion: check for damage carefully before getting out of garage. I always use flashlight and check surface thoroughly.
