Good to know when renting in Ireland
You can rent a car with SIXT in Ireland from the age of 21, having held a driver’s license for at least 4 years. Some vehicle categories have higher minimum age requirements, and a young driver surcharge applies to those under 25.
All drivers need a valid license, plus an ID or passport for rental. If your license uses a non-Roman alphabet like Arabic, you will also need an international driving permit.
All major credit cards are accepted at SIXT locations in Ireland, but not debit cards, cash or checks.
Rentals between SIXT stations in Ireland are allowed, depending on the rate the rental was booked under.
You will be driving on the left-hand side of the road in Ireland. Also keep in mind that many roads are narrow and require parallel parking. There are also many roundabouts, which you should familiarize yourself with before driving in Ireland.
